Cinema 2010

It’s weird ageing, right? Youth is wasted on the young. I’d go further,
I’d go life is wasted on people. I’m so proud of
how close we are. So where is she?
– Who? Your wife. Why do you think
someone would want to be married to me? Hi, dad. Hey, Cleo. Rise and rise again until lambs become lions. What does it mean? It means
“never give up”. Do you know
what fear does to the mind? It corrodes it. Rusts it. If we’re gonna date
you may have to defeat
my seven evil exes. That’s not, like,
foreboding at all. Why are you here?
– I came here to bring you in. Hey, I got one of those. Old man, my a… On three, ready? One… Sorry, I panicked. What number would you like? Three, yeah,
l-let’s just stick with three, it’s good. OK. Dad, the needle’s on empty.
– They just do that so you buy more than you need. I used to have this appetite for my life
and it is just gone. I just want to know
what he gives you
that I don’t give you. He’s not there all the fucking time. A man can be reached
if he has God in his heart. I don’t think God’s very interested in me, father. You think I don’t know how this feels?
– No, you don’t know how it feels. Your parents are dead.
You have no family. We are modelled on trash. Your actions could’ve permanently destroyed
everything I’ve been working on.
– “We” have been working on. Do you like being a joke?
Do you want to go back to that? Mark!

I love movies and love making short films of all kinds and have been doing so ever since I was a kid. I occasionally get down about my passion and where its going.

But then I watch your cinema videos. And it reassures my passion in film. I love these so much. You are fantastic at what you do. Keep inspiring.

This is stunning. To make someone feel not only the emotions of characters but of the directors is a real gift. To make someone feel ferocious emotions is just amazing. You have done a stunning job. Very well done.

I don't care what anyone says, this one is my favourite… I love the emotional stuff, this was emotional and it made me happy and sad at the same time. Happy and sad is the best emotion ever. So I love this.

Just a bit of creative difference on my part, but I think that a better scene for the ending, especially on that last note from the chior, would be the scene in Inception where (spoiler alert) Cob and Mal are laying on the track looking at each other while the train rushes at them. Or the scene earlier where the passing of time in their dream shows them to be aged and grayed, holding hands looking out at all that they have created. Again, that's my personal opinion, but all, amazing vid.

You, sir (or madam), are nothing short of a true genius. All of your videos, whether they be Cinema or [the films of], represent the pinnacle of editing, the highest form that any video could hope to ever achieve: they are all perfection. Each one just gives me chills watching no matter if it's the first or thousand and first time. They bring a tear to my eye showing what films really can do, only someone that really appreciates movies can create something so beautiful, and consistently. Bravo.

Have you ever felt that feeling when you hear a song that changes your entire life? It's a song that you listen to on replay, and it's the first thing you want to hear in the morning. You write down its lyrics everywhere, and that one line is in the back of your head no matter what you're doing?

That song is Sigh No More, for me. And you used it perfectly.

2010 was the best year in film in a looooong time. Social Network, Inception, Toy Story 3, How to Train Your Dragon, Black Swan, 127 Hours, Scott Pilgrim, Kick Ass, Let Me In, The Fighter, Easy A, and so much more. Great pics from all genres.

Will there be a Cinema 2012? I think this year is one of the most important in movie history, with The Dark Knight Rises, which made me cry (with sadness at the end of a trilogy and joy from how good it was) and The Avengers (another fantastic movie, with lots of humour) Skyfall, which should be good, Ghost Protocol, The Bourne Legacy….Need I go on?

The link doesn't work for me either. It's very frustrating with lots of these videos, they make lists of the movies but the links never work..

Keez, back in 2010 when I was going through a very rough time in my life, this video saved me. It literally saved my life. It made me believe in the power of cinema, and that there was something more important to continue to believe in. While I had to deal with my emotions, I was on the brink of giving up, when this video appeared. It introduced me to Indie music, and that we are all experiencing our lives in our own unique way.
Kees, thank you for saving me.

I am glad you found this video and that it helped you discover what's really important. Cinema 2012 will be a celebration of that love. I hope to see you there.

It sucks that you do the best job on these, that I've seen on youtube, but your videos are not really optimized for youtubes search bar. More people need to see your videos. And I'm kinda mad that I didn't find these a while ago. But happy I found them now. Like you're using "cinema" instead of "best/top movies" which gets a lot more searches. Maybe you know that already though. Either way I'll recommend you as much as I can when people ask for good recommendations.

But seriously, let me help you if possible (If you want the help). Your titles are too short / not optimized for search. If you add a second phrase to this video like "best movies 2010", it will pick up a lot more traffic and more people will get to see your hard work. You should do it for all of your videos. That way people like me won't have such a hard time finding them, and they'll gain the exposure they deserve. I do marketing btw. Good luck!

This was such a fantastic year for film. The best since 1999. Honestly, The Social Network, The King's Speech, Toy Story 3, Black Swan, True Grit, Inception, 127 Hours and The Fighter all in one year. Incredible.

Never heard that version of Creep before. Love how they didn't bottle it and kept the f-bombing in. Amazing video, amazing year and amazing uploader. Kees mate, you're a legend. Thank you.

Unfortunately Kees isn't doing a 2013 montage, he said 2012 was the last of that series. I think is my favourite too, the use of that cover of Creep at the end is absolutely perfect. Masterclass in editting (sp?).
