The AVR-1612 model does not offer networking and does not support the Apple Airplay feature. If you want this capability, you should opt for the AVR-1912 which has the networking feature and supports Airplay. Feel free to call for additional assistance: 800.315.0030–Crutchfield

You sure can control the volume through the receiver as long as you have the Apple TV connected to it either directly, or the Apple TV connected to your TV and then an audio cable from the TV back to the receiver–Crutchfield.

Awesome video. I was wondering if any of these receivers have optical output. I have a pair of Sony's MDR DS6500 and I need a receiver with an optical out. None of the reviews I've seen mention it. So I'm guessing they don't have one.

Yes. The Denon receivers support control from the compatible iPod/iPhone or from the Denon receiver and/or remote. Feel free to call for additional assistance: 800.315.0030–Crutchfield

The Denon receiver does not offer any integrated Bluetooth capabilities. You should be able to purchase a third party bluetooth receiver and connect it to an avaiable audio input on the receiver. Feel free to call for additional assistance: 800.315.0030–Crutchfield

I would try using the Airplay feature on an Apple iOS device (iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad) if you have one. By pressing the Airplay Icon in the lower right hand corner of a compatible app, the iDevice should list "Denon: AVR-1912" as an available Airplay Device. If it shows & plays properly, you'll know the problem is with iTunes. If this does not work, I would try disconnecting the receiver from your network and re-booting your router. Re-connect the Denon to see if iTunes woks. HTH!–Crutchfield

The AVR-1612 has been discontinued and is no longer available from Crutchfield. It did not offer networking and did not have an Ethernet port as a result. The replacement model (AVR-1613) added networking via an Ethernet port & support for Apple's Airplay. Feel free to call for additional assistance: 800.315.0030–Crutchfield
