Tips for International Actors – Favorite Acting Business Books

Hey guys, it’s Lenka here and today I’m gonna talk about my two most favorite books on the business side of acting. The first book, that I’m gonna talk about, is Self-Management for Actors by Bonnie Gillespie. This is the 3rd edition, and now there is an updated version, the 4th edition. So this has changed my life, because before reading it, I didn’t know a single thing about the showbusiness, because I’m a person from a small town from a small country, so I didn’t even know what a headshot was. This book not only teaches you how things work in the showbiz, but it also teaches you how to be in charge of your own career, instead of just waiting around for the phone to ring. The second book that I’m gonna recommend is Nancy Bishop’s book. The first was called Secrets from the Casting Couch. And the second one just came out and it’s called Auditioning for Film and Television. One of the things that this book is teaching you is how to manage your career in various markets. How to self-tape well and submit yourself for work outside of your market. So if you wanna buy these books, the links are in the description below. In case you are wondering, I have not been paid nor asked to make this video about these books. They are my personal recommendation, because I love these books and I wanted to share this with you. What are your favorite acting books? Let me know in the comments below. Thank you for watching my video, if you liked it, please click thumbs up and share it with your friends. See you next week, čau!
